With the adoption of the FY 2013 budget, the following changes will be implemented for the Department of Library Services, effective Tuesday, October 23, 2012:

The Main Library’s hours are changing to open at noon (instead of 10:00 a.m.) Tuesday through Thursday.  This change will align Main Library open hours with the neighborhood libraries.  The new hours for Main Library are:
·         Tuesday, 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.
·         Wednesday, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
·         Thursday, 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.
·         Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All Neighborhood Libraries will remain on the following schedule:
·         Tuesday, 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.
·         Wednesday, 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
·         Thursday, 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.
·         Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Six Neighborhood Libraries will continue to provide programming and check out services through an alternate staffing model utilizing part-time support staff and limited Librarian assistance:
·         Alamitos Library, 1836 E. Third Street
·         Bach Library, 4055 Bellflower Boulevard
·         Bay Shore Library, 195 Bay Shore Avenue
·         Brewitt Library, 4036 E. Anaheim Street
