Brewitt Family Learning Center

The Long Beach Public Library has a
Family Learning Center located in each library throughout the city. These Centers are due to the efforts of the Long Beach Public Library Foundation and its generous donors.

What Is a Family Learning Center?
The Family Learning Centers are designed to provide supervised homework assistance for students on a drop-in basis. A collection of homework support materials and computer-based learning opportunities will enrich student study skills and develop parent participation and support.

The Centers provide:

  • Homework Helpers to assist students, grades K-8, in understanding and completing their assignments.
  • Computers with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software to help students complete their homework assignments.
  • Books, magazines, newspapers, reference materials, and databases to support student information needs.
  • Computers for use by parents.

Along with these services, parents have the opportunity to interface with library staff, get assistance using library materials, and learn how the library can help their children.

Call the neighborhood library nearest you to find out when the Family Learning Center is open.
