Family Learning Centers

The Long Beach Public Library has a Family Learning Center located in each neighborhood library. Supported by the efforts of the Long Beach Public Library Foundation and its generous donors, these Centers offer a collection of homework support materials and computer-based learning opportunities to enrich student study skills and develop parent participation and support.

Family Learning Centers provide
:

  • Supervised homework assistance for students on a drop-in basis.
  • Computers with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to help students complete their homework assignments.
  • Books, reference materials, databases, and other online resources to support student information needs.

Along with these services, Family Learning Centers offer parents the opportunity to interface with library staff, get assistance using library materials, and learn how the library can help their children. Call your neighborhood library for Family Learning Center hours.
