An Evening with Author Isabel Allende
isbel allendeThe Long Beach Public Library Foundation and the Long Beach Public Library are honored to present award-winning author, Isabel Allende. Ms. Allende will appear at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00PM. Her novel, Zorro, was chosen for 2012 Long Beach Reads One Book.

Ms. Allende will speak of her experiences researching and writing Zorro, the fictitious hero who devoted his life to challenging injustice on two continents. The story takes place against the historical background of early California while under the dominion of Spain during the era's European political turmoil.

A literary legend, social activist, and literacy advocate, Isabel Allende has sold over 57 million books worldwide. Her 19 novels and memoirs have received international praise and established her as one of the most respected writers in the world. Allende speaks with humor, wisdom and passion about the heart-stirring beauty of the human condition.
