Cultural Conversations at Michelle Obama Library

Long Beach is known as the "International City" and the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library is embracing the cultures residing in their neighborhood with Cultural Conversations. Come and learn about the traditions, food and folklore of different cultures in our community, while forming new friendships. 

Cultural Conversations highlights different countries and cultures, the focus of the program is to bring patrons and community organizations together to share stories and give insight as to what it was like living in another country.

When: Saturday, November 4th, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Where: Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, Community Room

Agenda: Pre Veterans Day Parade and Festival Kickoff Event. We will be presenting "Long Days Working Hard", a documentary about the West Coast WWII experience. Special guest speaker, Claudine Burnett will share her stories. She was named one of the City of Long Beach's most influential people in the cultural arts by the Long Beach Business Journal, and described by the Long Beach Press Telegram as "one of this town's finest historians," Ms. Burnett's books are sure to open up new sources of information for history enthusiasts, and most definitely shed additional light on the past.Stories and traditions of Veterans Day
