Friends of the Long Beach Public Library

Who We Are Established in 1962, the Friends of the Long Beach Public Library is a non-profit 501c3 organization. Our first goal was to preserve the freedom of the library and prevent censorship. We continue to advocate for a strong public library system. Our Executive Board is made up of volunteers who meet monthly to conduct the business of the Friends. | What We Do To enhance libraries in our community we: Furnish materials for the library's collection Support summer reading programs for children and adults Provide cultural and literary events for the community Fund specialized training for the library staff Keep the public abreast of current issues regarding the library

How We Will Support You As a member, you will receive the Friends of the Library newsletter to inform you of our programs and services. Members are encouraged to attend the annual meeting each spring to enjoy lunch, a speaker, and a silent auction, and to vote on new officers.
